Spoken Word Poetry is an Oral Tradition in Trinidad and Tobago. Many may doubt this fact but it's true. Poetry is hidden in our hymnals, in our textbooks, and even on tombstones. Spoken word poetry is a lifestyle- a cult- not rap. It is what we say it is and what it isn't. It is our truth on paper, hidden underneath our tongues. This is survival. This is healing.
